We do not know the session days or times yet, and the competition can be on Friday, February 28, Saturday, March 1, or Sunday, March 2, 2025.

Please register by Wednesday, January 15. This is a firm deadline; we cannot accommodate any late registrations. Please let us know either way your selection, so we can plan.

The meet host has provided special accommodation by allowing our Gymnastics League girls to register for this competition long after all other registration has closed. Because of that, there will be some slight differences for the Gymnastics League athletes (that the girls should not be aware of) that we want to ensure everyone understands in advance.

First, since the Royal Festival leotards were ordered months ago, the Gymnastics League gymnasts will not receive one. Second, even if a Gymnastics League athlete were to qualify (based on an All-Around score) for the Xcel State Championships (that is at the end of our full season, in April for Xcel), it is only an option for our year-round gymnasts to attend.

Additional information to know in advance:

The meet host charges admission for spectators. We will share those details when we receive them.

The Gymnastics League girls will compete alongside many of our year-round artistic gymnasts (Xcel Bronze and Silver teams) and against other Gymnastics Clubs from throughout the northwest.

Once we register gymnasts for this meet, there are no refunds from the meet host, no matter the situation.

The Gymnastics League girls will compete their established routines on all four events and will wear their Gymnastics League red leotard. Like the January and February meets, fitted black shorts may be worn. Studded earrings are also acceptable, but all other jewelry must be removed before the competition.

This is the third year that Spokane Gymnastics is bringing Gymnastics League athletes to a competition outside of our club, in the previous two years, it has been a fun and fulfilling opportunity! Spokane Gymnastics has attended this meet every year for over a decade and we intentionally chose this competition. It’s a great venue and I anticipate a positive and memorable experience for everyone who chooses to attend.

Gymnasts should stay with their families until the designated time then gather with coaches (look for the giant stuffed animal)!

Venue

202. W. Spokane Falls Blvd. Hall B Spokane Convention Center

With all meets or training, please ensure your child eats something nutritious 30 minutes to one hour before arrival. Please have your daughter pack a water bottle and any other personal items she might need contained in a bag.

For the Royal Festival, please plan on at least four hours and pack snacks for your gymnast (to be eaten between competition and awards). Athletes may have a water bottle out on the floor, and snacks right before awards, but the Convention Center does not allow outside food for spectators.

All meets begin with some “open” warm-up time for running and stretching. Teams typically warm up together on the floor exercise mat for 20 to 30 minutes before marching in. In the Capital Cup Format, the gymnasts march in and then warm up on each event directly before competing on that event.

When your gymnast arrives for a gymnastics meet, she should already be in her competition leotard. Hair shoulder length or longer should be tied back and secured so it is not in the gymnast’s face. Excessive use of hairspray and glitter is not required and is up to the gymnast’s preference. Please be aware that certain hairstyles, bows, and clips can impede the gymnast while performing. Buns and clips are not required, but braids or “space buns” are great options. Hair should not touch the ground when the gymnast does a handstand, etc.

Gymnasts must remove all jewelry, including earrings (except “studs” which are allowed, before warm-ups. Dangly or hoop earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces, watches, fitness trackers etc., or any other jewelry may result in a deduction and must be removed.

Unique hair color, nail polish, etc., and other personal artistic expressions are welcome and do not result in a deduction. At Spokane Gymnastics, all coaches want each girl to feel confident, supported and to be able to have fun with all aspects of training and competition.

Gymnastics League athletes can participate at the Royal Festival by special accommodation from the meet host.

There is a parking garage located conveniently right underneath the convention center. There are also additional parking lots around downtown Spokane.

The concession stand will be open for you to purchase food, drinks, and snacks by card only.
