May 2020 Update – Spokane Gymnastics is expanding!

We are thrilled to welcome Northwest Gymnastics students and families to our program!

Spokane Gymnastics will now offer a Junior Olympic competitive program, which will be coached by Mike and Nancy Armstrong, founders of Northwest Gymnastics. We look forward to collaborating with teaching, staff training, and clinics; Mike and Nancy have over 70 years of combined coaching gymnastics experience! I am impressed by their commitment to serve their students and dedication to excellence. Mike and Nancy have established a reputation for quality coaching. They have been instrumental in assisting many local gymnasts reach their athletic goals, including receiving college scholarships and achieving national gymnastics success.

Effective as soon as we can safely reopen, Spokane Gymnastics will operate out of our current Argonne Village location, in addition to the gymnastics facility at 11712 E. Montgomery Drive, which will now be known as “Spokane Gymnastics Pines location.” The facilities are conveniently located less than two miles apart and are easily accessible directly from Montgomery Drive.

In addition to featuring Spokane Aerial Performing Arts (Circus and Silks), our Xcel and TNT teams will now be able to practice in a facility more conducive to competitive training. Most instructional classes will continue at Spokane Gymnastics Argonne Village, and class size will remain the same or be further limited to adhere to safety concerns of social distancing. This expansion was a consideration even before the emergence of COVID, but now additional space is vital and will benefit all our students.

We understand this has been an anxious time for everyone with all the uncertainty. We also recognize that change can be unsettling. We’re turning lemons into lemonade and taking this time to thoughtfully consider how we can best serve our families and the community. I appreciate that we are fortunate to be able to emerge from this closure even better than before: to collaborate to provide continuity for Northwest Gymnastics athletes, and also provide expanded services.

We will proceed in the same manner that we have built Spokane Gymnastics over the past decade. We are dedicated to the inclusive environment we have created: our culture, communication, organization, and established programs. We have built a strong foundation and have a solid team of committed instructors who positively impact the lives of children.

We look forward to being able to reopen and once again provide a safe, fun, and productive gymnastics experience!

Please reach out if there’s anything we may do to assist. We will get through this. And, as always, we will do so together.

Nadine! Burgess
