All classes and teams are currently running on their normal schedule with their coaches 🙂
January 16 Update – The Xcel Gold team will not have training on Monday, January 17. All other teams will have their normal training schedule all week.
We had one team member who completed on Friday test positive on Sunday afternoon (who is doing well). We want to give everyone who had close contact a chance to monitor for systems and also have the opportunity and time to test.
We will provide normal training on Tuesday and Thursday, and it is up to each family if they choose to attend this week. We also will provide a make-up training on Wednesday, January 19, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm with Coach Mike (advanced sign-up is not necessary, although communication is appreciated).
January 10 Update – all teams back to their normal training schedule. See you soon!

We have been in daily contact with Sylvia P regarding our competition leotards and the latest update is that they have cleared customs in Los Angeles and are on their way. We will immediately email those who have ordered them just as soon as they arrive.
The following coaches are currently scheduled to be at the Winter Spirit Meet in Clarkston:
Friday – Silver Teams – Chloe, David, and Nadine
Saturday – Gold, Platinum, and Diamond – Nadine
Sunday – Bronze teams – Aspen, Chloe, and Nadine
We will provide special training on Friday, January 7:
Xcel Silver – special two-hour training from 3:45pm – 5:45pm – obviously an option for team-members NOT competing in Clarkston 🙂
Xcel Bronze – 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Please RVSP by Thursday at 5:30pm so we can plan accordingly.
All updates will continue to be posted on this page. Thank you and stay healthy!
Unfortunately, over the weekend, we have had several gymnasts and team coaches test positive for COVID. While most of these cases do not appear to be connected, the reality is the latest variant is proving incredibly contagious, and we need to do our part to protect everyone and prevent spread. Therefore, we will cancel training on Monday, January 3rd, and Tuesday, January 4th at Pines.
We hope that we can reopen on Wednesday, January 5th with normal training; we will assess the situation and post all updates on this page.
Besides giving the impacted coaches and gymnasts a few extra days to completely recover, we also want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to test negative before we return to training.
This virus remains baffling. I understand many of the gymnasts and coaches impacted have been fully vaccinated and diligent in taking preventative measures, and I have nothing but empathy for them. Fortunately (as I have personally experienced in a breakthrough case), the actual symptoms don’t seem to be as severe as previous variants. I am optimistic that everyone impacted will make a quick and complete recovery.
I can imagine that many of our gymnasts are anxious about missing training right before the kick-off of their competitive season, which we completely understand. I do, however, believe that the timing now is fortunate; due to our pre-scheduled holiday breaks, we’ve been spread out and now have already been apart longer than usual. As much as we never want to cancel training or close even for a short period of time, we must have an adequate amount of coaches to train safely, and that is not currently possible. We will always do what is best for all our gymnasts, their families, our coaches, and our community.
Please update us right away if anyone in your household tests positive or displays symptoms. (We will, of course, guard your privacy zealously.) Having accurate information helps us make the best decisions we can in these ever-changing circumstances, and your help is crucial.
For reference, here are the most recent guidelines from the CDC:
If we do need to remain closed this entire week, we will communicate as far in advance as possible and pro-rate tuition to 75% for the month of January. If, as we hope, we are only closed for two days, then we will provide special training options later in the month, in addition to our normal make-up options. One idea is to have make-up/pre-scheduled drop-in training on Friday, January 7th. I’ll send details later this week if that is an option.
A few other items you might have questions about:
According to tracking, the Sylvia P leotards are scheduled to arrive tomorrow or Tuesday. As soon as they arrive, we will send an email to everyone who ordered a leotard. If they arrive while Pines is closed, you may pick up the leotard at your convenience (between 8:30am and 8:00pm) at Argonne Village; when we reopen Pines, we’ll have the leotards there.
At this point, Argonne Village will remain open unless developments require us to adapt further.
We do still have gymnasts scheduled to compete at the Winter Spirit meet in Clarkston this upcoming weekend. If we can still safely provide that opportunity, we will cautiously proceed.
As always, even greater than our love of gymnastics is our concern for the health and safety of all our people. We will post all time-sensitive updates on this page. Please check here for updates first, and if you still have questions, then reach out by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
As always, thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate these challenges. Your support is what keeps us going!
