Joseph Nixon

Joseph is from Spokane, WA, and graduated from Mt. Spokane High School. He plans to attend Washington State University, where he will study Commercial Advertising. A former Spokane Gymnastics athlete himself, Joseph has been involved in gymnastics since the age of 8. His experience working with kids includes coaching for Skyhawks Sports, where he taught a variety of sports. Joseph began coaching at Spokane Gymnastics in 2024 and especially enjoys working with Levels 3–4. His favorite event to coach is Floor. Joseph describes his coaching style as confidence-building and athlete-centered. He tailors his instruction to each athlete’s individual strengths, breaks down skills into manageable steps, and always keeps learning fun. His goal is to create a positive and supportive environment where every gymnast feels empowered to improve and succeed. 

Outside of the gym, Joseph enjoys playing tennis and volleyball. A fun fact about him is that he loves sushi!
