Max Bergam

Max has been a coach at Spokane Gymnastics since 2016. He grew up in Spokane Valley playing many different sports including basketball and track & field. He graduated from University High School in 2017 and from Eastern Washington University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Because of his passion for coaching, he decided to go back to school and is now also a certified K-8 teacher. During the day, Max works as a core substitute teacher at Sunrise Elementary. Max enjoys working with kids based on their individual strengths & weaknesses and loves helping his students reach their goals while having fun! He especially enjoys coaching his Xcel Bronze, Silver, and Gold competitive teams, instructional classes, and summer camps!

Throughout his coaching career, he has continued to learn the importance of high expectations, saying the most important values are consistency, positivity and hard work.  He coaches because he says it is one of the most rewarding and fun activities in the world. He loves to see the confidence, growth and excitement flourish in each and every one of his students, who describe him as goofy, supportive and caring.

When Max isn’t here at the gym, he enjoys playing & watching basketball (Go Zags!), lifting weights, collecting sneakers, and teaching!
