Mia Carmickle

Mia was born and raised in Spokane, WA. She currently attends Spokane Falls Community College studying Psychology. Mia participated in gymnastics from age 2 through 16, competing up to a Developmental Level 5 for Shadle Park High School. Her favorite event was Vault and Floor. Mia’s prior experience with kids includes 2 years of working as a Child Development Trainer with at risk foster youth in a group home setting. Mia began coaching at Spokane Gymnastics in 2021 and has since become the Instructional Gymnastics Department Leader. She coaches every level from Preschool through Instructional Level 5 and loves all of them. Mia’s favorite event to teach is Beam because she finds the biggest mental victories happen on this event. Mia describes her coaching style as fun and focused. She likes to incorporate games and activities that make gymnastics exciting while also focusing on the fundamentals that help build up capable gymnasts.  

Outside of Spokane Gymnastics Mia is involved with World Prayer Team where she prays for all the countries in the world every Wednesday. She is also a member of Toastmasters International where she practices public speaking for fun. Lastly, she is involved in women’s ministry and leadership development. Mia enjoys painting, thrifting, and wildflowers. She also loves smiling!
