Nathan was born in Anchorage, Alaska but moved around a lot growing up being part of an Air Force family. He participated in gymnastics for about 9 years and competed up to Level 7. Nathan began coaching at Spokane Gymnastics in 2023 and enjoys working with all groups, although his favorites are Level 2 to Level 4. His favorite event to teach is Floor because it is fun and there is a lot to do. He says there are so many skills that gymnasts can do on Floor and those skills can be incorporated into other events. Nathan describes his teaching style as more demonstrative and explanatory. He will always explain to the kids what he expects of them and how to do the skills.  

In his free time, Nathan enjoys reading, playing music, playing games, and pole vaulting. An interesting fact about Nathan is that he lived in Okinawa, Japan for three years!
