Nadine’s Health Update

In December I was diagnosed with invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma lung cancer (which typically affects never-smokers, such as myself) and I have been undergoing treatment.

The surgery on January 14 was remarkably successful!
My incredible surgeon, Dr. Matousek, was able to remove the upper right lobe of my lung, the tumor and a dozen lymph nodes robotically.

I’ve just completed my final chemotherapy infusion, a combination of Cisplatin and Pemetrexed, and going forward there will be consistent scans and monitoring. Unfortunately, my tumor was positive for the KRAS mutation (specifically KRAS_Gly12Asp) which is less than ideal, but we will face that issue in the future if needed. I am, by far, the most fortunate person I have ever met, and I realize that my experience has been even better than we could have hoped.
